IQM's 54-qubit quantum computer, NOX, has been activated at CINECA in Bologna, Italy, and is being integrated with the Leonardo supercomputer to enable advanced hybrid HPC and quantum workflows.
Italy switches on its second IQM quantum computer. Today at CINECA in Bologna, NOX went live — our IQM Radiance 54-qubit quantum computer. The system is being integrated into Leonardo, one of the world's fastest supercomputers, to enable hybrid HPC-quantum workflows for researchers and businesses across Italy. This is Production Quantum: a quantum computer you own, operate, and build real value on, deployed inside one of Europe's leading supercomputing centres. This milestone reflects a shared national commitment by Italy's Ministry of University and Research, CINECA, and ICSC to align investments and strengthen Europe's technological sovereignty.
