IQM Quantum Computers has deployed its second quantum computer, the IQM Radiance R1, at the Poznan University of Technology in Poland, marking a significant step for the country's quantum capabilities.
Poland switched on IQM's second quantum computer. Poznan University of Technology (PUT) has launched its first quantum computer — the IQM Radiance R1. The launch was marked with a ribbon-cutting by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Dr Marcin Kulasek; IQM CEO Jan Goetz and CCO Sylwia Barthel de Weydenthal; and Rector of PUT Prof. Teofil Jesionowski and industry leaders, a defining moment for Poland’s place in quantum. The university will the system for research, teaching, and Poland's new engineering degree in quantum technologies launching in October 2026. PUT is putting a real quantum computer directly in the hands of students, researchers, and engineers on campus. This is what IQM calls Production Quantum: a quantum computer you own, operate, and build upon. The deployment aligns with Poland's national quantum technology roadmap and broader European initiatives in the field backed by government investment and a strong academic foundation in STEM that Poland has built over decades.
